The memory foam mattress comes shrink-wrapped densely compressed and rolled up in a box conveniently for shipment. The box kept everything together and safe during shipping as expected. Once you pulled the mattress out of the box and cut open the compression bag the air hit the mattress and it started to take shape. Expansion takes less than 24 hrs. It's best to carry the box to the room where the bed is.
